Buffalo Bills tight end Joe Klopfenstein has been placed on injured reserve, the team announced on Thursday.
Klopfenstein caught one pass for 11 yards in one game last season for the Bills, who had signed him in November after the former second-round pick out of Colorado had been waived by his original team, the St. Louis Rams.
The Bills re-signed Klopfenstein to a one-year deal in March.
Klopfenstein missed a significant portion of the team's OTAs and mini-camps with an undisclosed injury, and an injury settlement could be the offing.
With today's transaction, the Bills have one spot open on their 80-man roster and two unsigned 2010 draft picks, including second-round nose tackle Torell Troup. The Bills open training camp on July 28.
