Seahawks Waive TE Jameson Konz

Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports the Seattle Seahawks have "waived/injured" seventh-round tight end Jameson Konz.

Konz has a hip injury, and if he clears waivers, he'll be placed on injured reserve. Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports that the Seahawks have claimed guard Gregg Peat off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts.

Chosen with the 245th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Konz (6-3, 234) played linebacker during his first three seasons at Kent State before converting to his current position in 2008. Konz caught two passes in his first game at tight end, but suffered a season-ending ankle injury and was red-shirted.

Konz caught 21 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns in 12 starts for the Golden Flashes last season.

A tremendous athlete, Konz ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds, posted a 10’08” broad jump, and an otherworldly 46” vertical leap at his Pro Day on March 11.
