Seahawks to Add LB Alvin Bowen

Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with free agent linebacker Alvin Bowen.
Terms were not disclosed, and a corresponding roster move will be needed before adding Bowen to the 80-man roster.
A fifth-round pick (147th overall) out of Iowa State by the Buffalo Bills in 2008, Bowen (6-1, 222) spent his rookie season on injured reserve and was waived by the Bills at the end of last year's training camp.
Bowen split between the Bills and Washington Redskins practice squads before being added to the Redskins' 53-man roster for the final five weeks of the regular season. The Redskins cut Bowen on June 9.
In 46 career games with the Cyclones, Bowen was credited with 364 tackles and nine quarterback sacks.
Bowen adds needed depth at linebacker, with Lofa Tatupu, Joe Pawelek, and Aaron Curry sidelined from practice with injuries. First-year linebacker Anthony Heygood was re-signed on Wednesday, but was placed on injured reserve after tearing his Achilles tendon during Thursday's warm-ups.
