Reggie Wayne Hints At a Training Camp Absence

Before his charity basketball game at Conseco Fieldhouse on Saturday night, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne addressed his contract situation.
"I want to be there on time but we're just going to do our part and let them do all the negotiations," Wayne told Phil Richards of the Indianapolis Star. "We done talked a little bit but it's just talk. That was it."
Wayne has two years and $11.42 million dollars remaining on a six-year, $39 million dollar contract he signed in 2006. Since signing that contract, Wayne hasn't missed a game, and has 372 receptions for 5,229 yards (14.1 avg) and 35 touchdowns, earning trips to the Pro Bowl after each season.
Wayne's contract included over $13 million in guarantees, which does not extend to his base salaries over the next two seasons. Wayne skipped the team's off-season workout program, Organized Team Activity sessions, and mandatory mini-camp. The 31-year old, who has an annual tradition for making grand entrances to camp, furthered hinted at an absence when asked what he had in store 2010.
"I've always got something planned," Wayne said. "Hopefully everything falls into place and I end up at Anderson on time."
The Colts open their training camp on August 1, and Wayne would face up to $15,888 in daily fines for his unexcused absence.
