The Carolina Panthers have signed free agent linebacker Nic Harris, Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Harris (6-2, 232) was a fifth-round pick (147th overall) out of Oklahoma by the Buffalo Bills in 2009. In 15 games, including two starts, Harris totaled 30 tackles, including six on special teams. Harris injured his knee in Week 16 and was placed on injured reserve.

The Bills released Harris on July 30 after he failed a physical.

Panthers center/guard Steve Justice was "waived/injured" to add Harris to the 80-man roster.
