Dolphins TE Anthony Fasano Signs RFA Tender

According to NFLPA records, Miami Dolphins restricted free agent tight end Anthony Fasano has signed his one-year tender.

Fasano was tendered the "Original Round" level, which carries a non-guaranteed base salary of $1.176 million dollars for the 2010 season.

A second-round pick (53rd overall) out of Notre Dame by the Dallas Cowboys in 2006, Fasano, along with linebacker Akin Ayodele, was acquired by the Dolphins in 2008 in exchange for a 2008 fourth-round pick (ultimately used by the Oakland Raiders on Tyvon Branch).

In 30 games, all starts, for the Dolphins over the last two seasons, Fasano has caught 65 passes for 793 yards and 9 touchdowns. During his four-year career, Fasano has 93 receptions, 1,062 yards, and 10 touchdowns.

Fasano had been participating in the Dolphins' "Organized Team Activity" sessions and mini-camp after signing an injury-protection waiver.

With Fasano signed, Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown is the team's lone unsigned restricted free agent.

Brown also signed an injury protection waiver, and despite sustaining a Lisfranc fracture in his right foot less than seven months ago, had been participating in the off-season workouts on a limited basis. Brown underwent a procedure on his right foot last week, which will keep him sidelined until the start of training camp. Brown has no plans to sign his tender anytime soon.

"There's no animosity that I'm not signing," Brown told the Miami Herald. "I'm showing that. I'm here."

Unlike several restricted free agents who have received threatening letters from their clubs, Brown's one-year tender is already worth 110% of his 2009 base salary, $3.969 million dollars, and cannot be reduced.
