Colts S Bob Sanders Declares Himself Healthy, Blasts "Tabloid Media"

Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders declared himself to be the healthiest he's been in a long time, and took some shots at the media on Monday, Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reports.

"I'm as healthy as I've been in a long time," Sanders said after practice on Monday. "It is strange. I'm usually on the PUP list and sitting out, not expecting to play very many preseason games."

Sanders also took issue with an NFL.com report that stated that Sanders has been slow to recover from shoulder surgery, reduced his contract, and that his playing career was in jeopardy.

Sanders' agent, Tom Condon, and the Colts quickly disputed the claim.

"Tabloid media. I barely read it," Sanders said. "I had a couple of people call me and say it was crazy, but I don't know. (The media) can come up with that type of stuff, speculation about how a guy's doing...

"I can't pay attention to it. There's nothing I can do about it. I've just got to make sure I'm ready to go. (Monday) was a good day and that's all I'm worried about."
