The Denver Broncos announced the signing of linebacker Diyral Briggs off their practice squad.
Briggs fills the roster spot of wide receiver Matt Willis, who placed on injured reserve with a broken foot. Wide receiver Eron Riley has been added to the practice squad, which still has two remaining vacancies.
Signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green in 2009, Briggs (6-4, 230) posted a pair of special teams tackles in four games during his rookie season. Briggs appeared in one game for the 49ers this season before he was waived on September 20.
The Broncos signed Briggs to their practice squad once he cleared waivers, paying him $8,000 per week, $2,800 per week over the minimum practice squad salary.
