Antonio Pierce Joins ESPN

Linebacker Antonio Pierce has officially announced his retirement from the National Football League, and will join ESPN as a football analyst.

Originally signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Arizona, Pierce totaled 686 tackles, 9 quarterback sacks, and 7 interceptions during his nine-year career.

Pierce signed with the New York Giants in 2005, earning one trip to the Pro Bowl (2006) and helping the Giants to a win in Super Bowl XLI. The 31-year old Pierce was released on February 11 after finishing the '09 season on injured reserve with a bulging disk in his neck.

Pierce will make his ESPN debut on NFL Live today at 4pm ET.
