Not going to focus on any bad or ugly because I'm just too happy that the season is just about here. OL seemed better yesterday giving me hope that the depth pieces might be found in the case of injuries. RB by committee was very good yesterday, but it will be GREAT watching Josh Jacobs carrying the rock.

I'm going to give another "good" to CHTV for being my go-to for many years, and helping me through this preseason. Looking forward to a great season with you guys.

Also, listening to Harlan and Kuhn was really nice after having to sit through the Browns homers. We are very lucky.

There is certainly plenty of homerism to be found- and widely encouraged- on Packers broadcast teams, but it certainly tells you something about the level of professionalism that Harlan brings to the table when he's on play by play, and excitedly raises his voice to crescendo as he's calling the tipped ball that ends up bouncing off two Packers defenders hands and eventually back into the intended Ravens' receivers hands for a touchdown.

At that point, Harlan isn't a paid employee of the Packers providing Packers-centric play by play for the Packers preseason game- he's just a veteran football play by play man calling a football game.

Harlan really is a class act compared to many employed by the other 31 franchises out there.

I realize you probably know this, Oppy, but for others: remember that Kevin Harlan grew up around the Packers as son of former team president Bob Harlan. But I concur: he's one of the best in the business and calls games pretty even handedly.

Agree on all points. Welch is a valuable ST player and has a nose for the ball on defense, qualities that we could always use more of.

I would also add Heath and all the running backs to the good.

Although the Pratt interception was brutal, he has more upside than Clifford; so if it comes down to that choice, I would take the former. If you're looking for QBs that can maybe win games should Love miss time, they are out there. It's anybody's guess what will happen.

I'm hoping that chip shot miss from Carlson will be the end of him, but (sigh), it probably won't. Here's where Gute should admit he made a mistake, keep Joseph as a stopgap solution, and continue to look, look, and look some more, even if he has to take another shot in the draft.

"If you're looking for QBs that can maybe win games should Love miss time, they are out there."

You sure? Unless the defense is capable of playing grind it out, keep away football I doubt there is. To me there's about 4-5 backups good enough to win a game or two if the starter goes down and they're not getting cut. Other teams are SOL.

A game or two is all we're asking...If we were to lose Love for a long time, then we're probably screwed anyway...Maybe Heinecke could be useful in short relief if he becomes available, but that could take some sort of trade.

I think Pratt may have a gift for the NFL game that could lead to him being a starter someday.
If I had to choose, I'd keep Pratt, although I'd like to keep Clifford, too.
***
I'd go for Joseph -- and hope Carlson figures it out with a change of place, as long as it's not against the Packers.
***
I'd keep Melton as seemingly the second-fastest among our wide receivers, plus what he has already showed us last season in big games during the stretch run to the playoffs.

Sadly, Aaron you are absolutely right about Carlson. The OL looked really well particularly on running plays. And, I though Caleb Jones played some of his best football to date. He doesn't just block people he punishes them! Gotta find a way to keep this freak. I thought your criticism on the QB's was valid but a tad harsh. Pass protection was not reliable enough. The backup QB is a real toss up. Time will tell. I still believe we have two very promising young QB's, actually three counting Love! Remember Love never even played his first three years. He turned out pretty good! No one regrets the Rodgers trade now.

The Preseason is over, and we don't really have any injuries. We're pretending that a few guys might, so that we can stash them on the temporary IR and bring them in later. That's really good news.

I think we could put Clifford behind the 1s and he'd be able to help move the ball. It wouldn't be a disaster. Remember, as the season progresses, he'll get more practice. And his primary job is to put the ball in the hands of some really good players, so if he can manage that without turning it over, we might have something to cheer about.

The Kicker "controversy".....the dude made 20 out of 20 inside the 40 last year, and was 60% from over 50.

I think you could take the guys the Packers cut and have the core of a real good team.
