Packers Wild Card Recap I Eagles 22 Packers 10
Packers lose to Eagles in the wild card round.

The Packers could not get the victory in Philadelphia as the youngest team in the NFL was eliminated from the playoffs. QB Jordan Love finished 20/33 with 212 YDS 0 TD and 3 INT. RB Josh Jacobs had 18 carries for 81 YDS and scored the lone touchdown. Green Bay suffered numerous key injuries and turned the ball over 4 times in what was a disappointing result with questionable officiating. In case you missed it, here is the recap:
Green Bay received the ball with a disastrous start as all-pro CB Keisean Nixon fumbled the ball recovered by PHI at the GB 28 (he had possession and was touched in the ground how was that ruled a fumble?). This lead to a QB Jalen Hurts 11-yard touchdown with all day in the pocket to WR Jahan Dotson. K Jake Elliott made the extra point PHI 7 GB 0 with 13:21 left in the first quarter.
The Packers nightmare start continued after a holding penalty in the kickoff return, a 2-yard RB Jacobs run and two incompletions (one almost intercepted) by QB Love leading to a three and out punt. PHI moved the chains with a 10-yard completion from QB Hurts to WR AJ Brown. However, the GB defense stepped up as LB Quay Walker stuffed RB Saquon Barkley for a 1-yard gain then S Javon Bullard wrapped up RB Barkley on a screen pass for no gain on third down leading to a touchback punt. Packers picked up their first first down of the game with a QB Love 10-yard completion to TE Tucker Kraft. On third-and-3 at the GB 45, LB Nolan Smith ran around RT Zach Tom leading to a 14-yard sack forcing GB to punt.
PHI was able to move into GB territory with a 17-yard run by RB Barkley then a 15-yard run by QB Hurts. QB Hurts completed a 10-yard pass to WR DeVonta Smith to the GB 13-yard line. The Packers called an aggressive blitz package three straight plays leading to QB Hurts incompletions. K Elliott made a 31-yard field goal attempt bringing the score to PHI 10 GB 0 with 19 second left in the first quarter. The last play of the first quarter was a 3-yard run by RB Jacobs to the GB 33.
Second Quarter: Eagles 10 Packers 0
First play of the second quarter QB Love threw a long pass intended for WR Dontayvion Wocks that was intercepted by CB Darius Slay at the PHI 22. The Packers defense remained focused and energized stopping the Eagles offense for a three and out leading to a positive kick return by WR Jayden Reed to the GB 46. QB Love completed a 9-yard pass to WR Reed for the first down gain. After back to back RB Jacobs setting up third-and-1, TE Kraft took the snap moving the pile picking up the first down. GB went for it on fourth-and-1 calling the same TE Kraft play leading to the same first down result. GB was forced to kick a field goal as QB Love did not see an open TE Kraft in the end zone, but unfortunately K Brandon McManus missed the 38-yard field goal with 5:05 left in the second quarter.
The Packers defense continued to be a force pressuring QB Hurts out of the pocket and stopping him short of the first down on a third-and-13 scramble resulting in a PHI punt. OL Elgton Jenkins injury started impacting GB as replacement OL Travis Glover was called for two holding penalties pushing the Pack back to first-and-20 as the clock ticked down to the two minute warning. GB was able to pick up the first down to the PHI 48, however QB Love threw another interception over the middle picked off by LB Zack Baun who returned it to the GB 45. GB defense continued to play elite forcing back to back incompletions by QB Hurts resulting in anotjer PHI punt. QB Love took a knee and the Packers found themselves only down 10-0 at halftime.
Third Quarter: Eagles 10 Packers 0
Eagles received to start the third quarter as RB Barkley picked up the first down on a 4-yard then 7-yard run. The GB defense did not allow another yard and pushed PHI back with a DE Rashan Gary sack and holding RB Barkley for no gain on third-and-19 forcing the Eagles punt. The Packers were able to gain momentum utilizing RB Jacobs on back to back runs then an 11-yard catch on third-and-2. QB Love on third-and-4 completed a 29-yard pass to WR Wicks to the PHI 30-yard line. WR Romeo Doubs was injured landing on the back of his head in the end zone (concussion). On third-and-13, QB Love threw a heave to the end zone intended for WR Wicks that was called defensive pass interference setting up first-and-goal at the PHI 9. RB Jacobs gained 1-yard on a run then two straight QB Love incompletions lead to a 26-yard successful field goal attempt by K McManus. PHI 10 GB 3 with 5:46 left in the third quarter.
The PHI offense was able to move down the field with a 28-yard pass to WR Smith then a quick throw from QB Hurts to TE Dallas Goedert who took it to the house for a touchdown. K Elliott missed the extra point PHI 16 GB 3 with 3:20 left in the third quarter. Needing to put points on the board QB Love hit RB Jacobs over the middle for a 15-catch and run. QB Love completed a pass to WR Reed for a 13-yard gain but Reed walked off the field with a shoulder injury. The last play of the third quarter was a 32-yard jersey ripping run by RB Jacobs that got stopped at the 1-yard line.
Fourth Quarter Eagles 16 Packers 3
On first-and-goal at the PHI 1, RB Jacobs powered his way into the end zone for his ninth straight game with a touchdown. K McManus made the extra point PHI 16 GB 10 with 14:56 left in the fourth quarter. The Eagles were able to chip the clock down by utilizing RB Barkley with short gains. A very questionable “unnecessary roughness” call was made against CB Nixon pushing QB Hurts down out of bounds (Questionable? More like bull shit call). This lead to a successful 30-yard field goal attempt by K Elliott PHI 19 GB 10 with 7:33 left in the fourth quarter.
On third-and-3 at the GB 41, a questionable handoff play was called to RB Emmanuel Wilson as RB Jacobs was limping on the sideline. QB Love threw a pass to WR Malik Heath on fourth down that was caught out of bounds for an incompletion and turnover on downs. PHI milked the clock keeping the ball on the ground and another questionable “unnecessary roughness” penalty was called on DT TJ Slayton to the GB 20. PHI ended up kicking a successful 32-yard field goal PHI 22 GB 10 with 3:12 left in the fourth quarter.
The Packers were unable to put points on the board as the season sadly came to an end in Philly with final score being PHI 22 GB 10.

I am not calling for any changes but how much does the 7th seed change the narrative on this team. Missing the playoffs 2 years in a row vs sneaking in seems to change everything. I am still on sold on Love and looking his contract he has one more year to prove he is worth his money. I still think they should have played hard ball and waited to pay him but that just isn't how the NFL goes. Being contrarian might be a good way to go with these big QB deals.

The longer you wait the more it costs.

I disagree on many fronts. First I don't think Love would be demanding more today than he was last year at this time. Second, it might be better to let an average QB walk then pay him like he is Mahomes. Only 2 QBs have won the Super Bowl and taken over 13% of the cap and those guys are named Brady and Mahomes. One of these a team will show that letting a high priced QB walk and getting one on the cheap (Vikings and Bucs) might be the better move.

Getting one that does his job on the cheap only works for a season or two if you're lucky. They aren't cheap the second season if they're still there and then you have to go out and get another that may or may not work (Atlanta/Jets). You could keep drafting new ones like Chicago and maybe they got lucky on their 6th try. Just like the Raiders and Saints.

This is a team that was way overrated at the start of the season and they proved this as the season went on. The biggest problem I see is that there are too many Packers with shit for brains. It starts with the head coach who always had shit for brains. It continues to the players that keep getting called for penalties, shit for brains. Then goes to the rougher needless penalties like 15 yard unnecessary roughness, shit for brains. They have an incredibly overrated and overpaid QB that insists on throwing bombs to triple covered receivers or can't throw ten yards to the end zone. Shit for brains also didn't see the Eagles player in the middle of the field for another pick. There are shit for brains players like Watson and Jaire who seem to be made out of paper. There is so much that needs to be done after the season and it starts with shit for brains MLF, the oiffensive coach, the QB and the paper players. Good luck!

Probably wouldn't hurt the team to hit on a #1 pick one of these drafts.

There's an article stating the Packers were playing with house money...again.
Like...wtf?
Your playing with house money when you weren't expected to get in the playoffs.
Last seasons team was 9-8, with a 1st time starting QB, that is house money.
This years team was 11-6 with a better defense, a QB looking to grow (still looking apparently), a better rb, and Mckinney.
They earned a playoff spot
How does someone get 'house money' from that.
Just because you're an underdog, doesn't mean you are playing with house money.
Seriously Felipe?

Both LeFluer and Love’s are living off that wildcard win over Avery bad cowboys team.
I have no confidence in either. I want to barf when I hear them doing press conferences. MLF is like a jr college coach.

What was painfully clear is the Packers couldn't match the speed or toughness of the Eagles. If you look at the six losses(two each from Detroit, Minnesota and Philly), each team has great lines on both sides of the ball and superior talent at the skill positions. While Jacobs is a standout, and Kraft has his moments, the Packers are lacking the players needed to compete at the championship level.
I'm still a backer of Jordan Love. He showed last year what he can do. This is closer to a sophomore slump than anything else. But the team should look for a quarterback to compete next season. If that's Willis, so be it, or someone else. Love shouldn't be handed the starters job. Love has resorted to his college mechanics which led to a bunch of interceptions.
They need a blistering fast wide receiver and give up on the Christian Watson experiment before his contract is due. Doubs is good but often injured. Reed is the playmaker but needs someone opposite him.
I don't know if Musgrave will ever stay healthy enough to be productive.
I'm not sold on the interior of Packers offensive line. They need depth. Morgan was a complete washout as a number one pick and it said much when Myers went down that they didn't want Monk at center.
They need to find a fearsome edge rusher. Van Ness is good in spot work(his role at Iowa) but not as a starter.
The need another defensive lineman, maybe two. Big guys. Kenny Clark isn't the Kenny Clark of old.
Linebacker also needs to be addressed. Clay Walker is ok, but compare him to Zack Baun.
They also need another stud cornerback. Jaire is hurt a lot but has an un-moveable contract.
Oddly enough there's one area that most people don't think about: running back. Wilson and Brooks are good backups, especially Brooks, but imagine if Treyveon Henderson alternated at back with Jacobs? Unless they can find a complimentary back Jacobs will get beat to hell and wear down.
Finally Matt LF has to look at his performance this year and his assistants. Many, many times the team was not ready to play. That's on the coaching staff. MLF also has some clock management issues.
2025 will be a turning point season for Green Bay. They must upgrade personnel(on Gute), Love needs to improve, the offensive and defensive lines need to improve, greater team speed at key positions and the coaching staff needs to decide if they can coach with the best teams.
If 2025 ends like this, wholesale changes need to be made. It's one year too early to give up on things.

"Linebacker also needs to be addressed. Clay Walker is ok, but compare him to Zack Baun."
They have Cooper who looks pretty good as well. Baun looks like he does because the Eagles have 2 monsters at DT in Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter. Without those 2 Baun is just another player.
