Packers vs Ravens: Gameday Preview - 2025 Week 17

The road to the postseason starts here.

It's the final home game of the regular season today with the Green Bay Packers taking on the Baltimore Ravens from Lambeau Field at 7 PM CST. The 9-5-1 Packers are coming off a tough 22-16 overtime loss at the hands of the Chicago Bears last week, where mistakes late in the game cost them sole possession of the NFC North. The 7-8 Ravens are coming off a 28-24 defeat from the New England Patriots, which saw QB Lamar Jackson exit the game with a back injury, leaving his status for today's game in question. The Ravens are fighting for their playoff lives with slim chances at achieving them, while the Packers have secured a playoff spot and are looking to head into the postseason strong.

The last time these two teams met was December 19, 2021, in Baltimore, where the Packers emerged victorious with a final score of 31-30. Aaron Rodgers went 23/31 for 268 yards and three touchdowns, while Ravens backup QB, Tyler Huntley, went 28/40 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. The game could have been tied with a late fourth-quarter touchdown run by Huntley, but instead of kicking the extra point to force overtime, the Ravens went for two and failed, sealing the game in favor of the Packers.

Last week, the Packers' never-ending injury woes took over again as Jordan Love exited the game with a concussion. Malik Willis stepped in and actually played fairly amicably, going 9/11 for 121 yards and a touchdown, including 44 yards on ten carries, but a shoulder injury late in the game may have prevented him from going much further. It was a heartbreaking loss to Chicago nonetheless, with communication just seeming to break down late in the game, not to mention a handful of mental errors. The loss may have cost the Packers a chance at an NFC North title, but the season isn't over yet, and this team still has a lot of fight left in it.

We look to right the ship tonight at home to begin a strong march into the playoffs.

What to See on Offense

Both Jordan Love and Malik Willis were listed as questionable entering tonight's game. However, yesterday afternoon, it was announced that Jordan Love did not clear concussion protocol and will be OUT for tonight's game. With no other quarterback on the Packers' roster outside of practice squad QB Clayton Tune, Malik Willis should be at the helm tonight, with Tune likely elevated from the practice squad. While we'd likely prefer Jordan Love, with as rough as Baltimore's pass defense has been this season, we may still have a good chance at success with Malik Willis.

The Ravens rank 27th in the league for average passing yards allowed per game with 242.7. They have a talented secondary led by safety Kyle Hamilton, and cornerbacks Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey. Wiggins and Humphrey lead the team in interceptions with three each. But outside of the talent, they just haven't been able to find a lot of success as a whole, especially with New England's Drake Maye torching them last week for 380 yards through the air. I won't say that Malik Willis could absolutely light them up, as the Ravens' secondary is still a talented bunch who can put it together if they find it in them, but it could be a good day for the Packers' pass catchers. When it comes to those pass catchers, Christian Watson is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury/illness, but I would expect to see him tonight still.

Here's something you rarely see: Baltimore's defense is towards the bottom of the league in sacks, with only 26 so far. It seems like forever since Baltimore didn't have a pass rush capable of at least a middle-of-the-league ranking, but LB Mike Green leads the team in sacks with only 3.5. 16 other players have a sack on their stat sheet, but no Baltimore defender is really a huge threat for taking down the QB. Zach Tom and Sean Rhyan are both questionable for today's game, with Tom being the only one I really feel is at risk of not playing, but the Packers should be able to keep Willis on his feet today for the most part.

On to the run, Josh Jacobs re-aggravated his knee injury last week against Chicago and was not very productive, only going for 36 yards on 12 carries, but he is without an injury designation today, so he should be a full go. Emanuel Wilson took over last week and went for 82 yards on 14 carries, continuing to prove his value as the second back. Baltimore's defense ranks 13th in the league against the run with 108.9 yards allowed per game. Travis Jones and John Jenkins take up space in the middle of the defensive line while linebacker Roquan Smith leads the team in tackles with 124 so far this season.

The running game may depend on the health of Josh Jacobs. It seemed like last week, he had finally hit rock bottom this season with a red-zone fumble, and he did not see much action afterward. But with no injury designation this week, Jacobs is looking to make up for his failures last week and do his part to lead the Packers to victory tonight.

What to See on Defense

The Ravens have been in a similar position to the Packers with their starting QB situation this week, with Lamar Jackson nursing a bone bruise in his back. He is doubtful for tonight's game at this point, putting the ball in the hands of backup QB, Tyler Huntley. As stated previously, Huntley has started against the Packers before, four years ago in Baltimore, where he brought the game down to the wire. As the Packers have in Malik Willis, Huntley is a capable veteran backup whose game is very similar to that of Lamar Jackson. As far as preparation is needed for which QB the Packers will see tonight, styles aren't very different, but obviously, talent-wise, Jackson takes the cake by a landslide. However, I wouldn't count out Huntley from making this a game.

At his disposal, Huntley will have two very capable targets in Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews. Flowers has already eclipsed the century mark with 1,043 yards and two touchdowns, while Andrews has 380 yards but five touchdowns. While Flowers is the big play threat, Andrews can be counted on in the red zone and in short passing situations. Isaiah Likely, the second tight end, is also a big target for Huntley that will need to be accounted for. The Packers' secondary had several communication breakdowns last week, and towards the end of the game, they just got flat-out beaten. Evan Williams is again questionable tonight. If he is not available, the Packers need to make up for those mistakes last week in his absence.

Ravens quarterbacks have been sacked 41 times this season, good for 11th in the league when it comes to sacks allowed.  Again, with Micah Parsons in the lineup, we'd be imagining Tyler Huntley running for his life. But without Parsons, the Packers didn't exactly show up in the pass rush against Chicago. This needs to change today. We are begging Rashan Gary to show up more on the stat sheet. QB pressures and hits are nice, but they don't always get the job done. It's time for #52 to take over.

In the running game, Derrick Henry is still a force at 32 years old. He already has 1,253 yards and 12 touchdowns this season and is averaging five yards per carry. His kryptonite, however, at this point in his career, is holding on to the football. Henry has put the ball on the ground four times this season, losing it three of those occurrences. The Packers' defense continues to hold up against formidable rushing threats this season despite losing key players in that area. Last week, they held Chicago's running game to 108 yards on 22 carries. I said in an article earlier this week that the addition of Jordan Riley has been big for the Packers against the run. Despite him not coming away with the stats, Riley has been noticeable in plugging the middle of the defensive line. Perhaps the stats will start to come tonight.

Extra Notes

Once again, special teams essentially lost the Packers a game last week. The fire was lit under Rich Bisaccia's seat by Packers fans once again, which you'd think the chair would be charred by now, but it's still holding up. The reason for it holding up this week may be the player at the end of the failed play. Yes, it was a failed onside kick recovery, and that is on special teams. But it was Romeo Doubs who failed to make the grab. Doubs is the Packers' most sure-handed receiver. Put it this way, in the 2014 NFC Championship game, everyone said that if Brandon Bostick didn't try getting the ball, Jordy Nelson was behind him to easily make that catch. Well, last week's game was as if Bostick didn't jump, and Nelson still bobbled the recovery.

The fact of the matter is, Bisaccia is going nowhere right now, so we need to move on.

Baltimore's returners, Rasheen Ali, LaJohntay Wester, and Keaton Mitchell, are ranked towards the top of the league, so the Packers' kick and punt coverage will be tested today. They've been pretty solid in containing formidable return threats, and that needs to continue today.

Baltimore's punter, Jordan Stout, is right up there with Daniel Whelan amongst the best in the league, and kicker Tyler Loop is 27/30 so far this season.

Baltimore has a solid special teams unit, and the Packers are going to need to perform much better than games past this season to make sure special teams isn't at fault for yet another defeat.

In the End

Barring a division championship, this will likely be the final home game of the 2025 season. It's time to leave Lambeau with a bang. It doesn't get much better than a game at Lambeau Field under the lights in December. If you're heading to the game tonight, get loud. Let's get this road into the playoffs off on the right foot. We may be down Jordan Love tonight, but the Packers still have a fighting chance with Malik Willis.

Next week, the Packers will have their final regular-season game against the Minnesota Vikings. This weekend will tell if the Packers will have something to play for, or if they're just looking to stay healthy on their way into the postseason. Let's make sure it all counts. Go Pack Go.

Looking forward to watching Malik. Was also hoping Jordan could get @ least 2 weeks of rest and healing after his concussion. Worried they may have tried to find a way to put him back in the game prematurely--guaranteed play-off contention gave them an out.

Torch me for this...but I say the odds are better with Willis than Love. Willis has a bit more fire and with his mobility, is willing to be more daring threat as a runner or scrambler. He can make the throws even if not the same deep balls that Love can do. He has a confident demeanor with his experience on the field. Ravens defense has more to prepare for against Willis than Love.

For me, Willis is better suited to what LaFleur wants to do purely because his mobility adds a dimension. LaFleur has perhaps been too conservative with Willis to date in terms of what he’s called on him to do, but in my view LaFleur’s approach is a major brake on Love.

Love would be far better off in an early MM type offense than in the one LaFleur runs now. I’d say even in the system LaFleur ran in his first couple of years with Rodgers. It’s possible that in a year or two the same could apply to Willis, but right now he works well within a more limited set of targets and route permutations.

i believe the problem is that MLF has the reins to tight on the whole team, starting with the qb. i think this goes back to his days with Rodgers and fighting for control. once Rodgers left i feel like he decided to limit JL's control as well as the rest of the team. this team lacks the mental strength to finish games because of it. how else to you explain every week sitting on the edge of your chair at the end of games "hoping" they can get a stop or extend a drive. physical strength is another area as well, we can never seem to get push when we need a yard on offense and seem to get pushed back easily for 3 or 4 yards when the other team needs a yard. been saying this for the last 5 years already.

What he is saying is we need to start winning again after 2 back-to-back losses in games we ought to have won, at least in the case of the Bears. He’s right: we need to get back to playing complete games and not beating ourselves. We are in the playoffs not because of what we have done recently, but what the Lions have.

What you talkin' about with Willis?
It seems odd to say that Malik Willis is anywhere close to being as good as Jordan Love -- although there seems to be a recurring phenomenon in NFL history of fans romanticizing the backup.
It's impossible to say with certainty, but in all likelihood Love is much the better QB.
Yes, Love still has room for improvement, and perhaps LaFleur can find ways to utilize Love better (e.g., perhaps an occasional rollout to allow Love the option to pass with two or three levels of routes going toward the same sideline, or to run while probably being able to get out of bounds before taking a hit, or to throw the ball away from out-of-the-pocket to avoid a grounding penalty) -- but I've been truly impressed with the development of Love including this season.
For one thing, Love has a unique way of throwing a football with a little more loft and little more touch that appears to be easier for his receivers to catch. Somehow, his passes almost always get to the receiver in the nick of time.
Also, Love seems have gained a mastery at the line of scrimmage of making last-second adjustments with a commanding stature of urgency combined with calmness. Somehow, he almost always gets the play off just in the nick of time.
We seem to have a top quarterback in Jordan Love, which is no small matter, actually a great treasure for the Packers. He has the opportunity to be a great QB, not by trying to do too much, but by steadily honing his craft in all of its aspects.
***
As for Malik, it will be fun and even fascinating to see how he does.
(For out-of-staters blocked from watching the game by the greed of the NFL, at least the NFL Channel is re-airing the game early Sunday morning.)
Our backup may have some advantages over Love that may work better in certain situations -- and that may be the case tonight against the Ravens. I don't know.
I hope Malik shines in his time with the Packers, and earns the opportunity to be a starter with another team next season. It would be great if Malik becomes a star in the NFL, although preferably with a team far away in the AFC.
Best case scenario is that Love and Willis shine in the NFL with noteworthy careers.
I like to think fans can help players at least a little, not by overlooking their flaws, but by sincere encouragement. If we treat these guys not just as players but as persons, it seems we can lift them up.
It seems the fans can help to make Green Bay a sought-after destination for players, a place where they know they'll be appreciated and treated right.

I'd take Willis over Love everyday. Throws a way better ball and feels the pocket better. Love has never earned the contract they gave him. Most of his throws aren't where they are suppose to be and his no energy play rubs off on the team. But keep your rose colored glasses on.

With all the praise for Willis, why did they give Love that contract? He's more mobile, athletic, throws dimes on the move, etc.
Willis is a backup for a reason, and sure, he'll have moments that make many scream 'great', because it's what Packer fans scream about everyone, at the start.
Let's hope he wins, and say goodbye, because win or lose, being so awesome, it's likely the last time you see him, unless the $55 million dollar man can't get it done, other teams just don't see him as you all do.
Willis might not be Fools Gold, but he isn't the Golden Boy that will save a franchise as its starting QB.
We've seen many a clone of this type of QB, and they all end up as backups, which is what they're meant to be. Sorry.
Let's make a good show in the playoffs

I do wonder if Willis and LaFleur/his offensive design might be a better fit for each other than Love is with this O. Love seems to thrive on rhythm and to be more naturally suited a more expansive type of passing offense to me, while Willis seems an ideal element to provide mobility that opens up running lanes and provides can alternative means of advancing the ball on the ground to compliment a between the tackles run game.

When I hear the running ability of a QB is his best attribute, the one that Defenses need to plan for, I see a QB that needs to win it all in his first 5-6 years, and the vast majority of them don't come close, as the starter. The best attribute for a QB has to be his arm and mind, with a level of running ability, quick feet to move, and not if he runs a 4.3 40. Willis, like many before him, and still in the league, are running backs who want to throw the ball. Willis could look very good in the MLF Offense, but it won't be in the playoffs in GB. Lamar is heralded as 'great' and 6-7 years in, no SB, no AFCCG, and now thought to be on the move from Baltimore. The best running QB to play, they say, and nothing of true merit to show for it, but a better clone of the previous.
I don't care how great a QB can run, it only means he'll run you from the SB faster than the passing QB.

While I tend to share your views of run first QBs generally, the fact is that, thus far with the Packers, Willis hasn’t been that really. He showed us that he actually is comfortable in the pocket (much more so than Williams, for example). He just has the ability to run on top of that. That is a somewhat different proposition for as long as the elite mobility lasts certainly, but also beyond that if he’s given the opportunity to develop further as a passer.

In any case, I do not see Willis as a better QB than Love, just a rather different one and one genuinely worthy of starting somewhere. My intended point was that a QB with his attributes feels ideally suited to the recent LaFleur offense. Whereas I think that design often conflicts with the best ways to exploit Love’s talents. If you like, that LaFleur gets less from Love than could be and perhaps maximizes Willis or closer to it.

I don't think JL10 "naturally" does what you refer to as "a more expensive type of passing offense," I think he's been coached to do that. I also think it's been detrimental to the team. I think they'd be more effective having Love throwing to targets who run within a smaller speed window, namely Golden Watson and Reed on the field at the same time when possible. Give Love a chance to get in sync with them at top speed.

It looks like MLF has more fun calling plays with Malik on the field, and I think he could do more of that with JL10.

He's the backup because he was signed after they over paid Love after a half of a season. So they aren't going to sit the 54 million dollar QB. But throwing a better ball, being more mobile, and playing with energy the team feeds off of is bad I'll take that everyday over someone that's been in the league 6 years and still needs to work on his basic passing skills.

Aaron Rodgers signed a $10mil contract and bought each one of his offensive linemen for Christmas a $20K Cam Am Side-by-Side and Jordan Love bought his $200 Nike sneakers even though he signed a $220mil contract. This should tell you all you need to know.

Way to speak truth to power, wiremans12!
How much does Roger Goodell rake in per year . . . $40 million, maybe?
All of these silly and self-righteous slogans of supposed social justice that the NFL bigwigs foist upon us during games seem to be an effort to distract us from their immeasurable greed.
That's the way it works in the America of today. A few own almost everything, the most of us almost nothing. Even the better off among us are little better than house slaves who have to watch every word they say lest in offending their masters they are censured, silenced, and ruined. They think it would be better if we'd never been born.
The Mr. Potters of this world consider us a lazy, discontented rabble of cattle to be herded into dependence and servility.
Hard-working people labor for 30 years to pay off a mortgage, then because of obscene property taxes are forced to hand over their hard-earned house back to the bank under the ruse of a reverse mortgage. Small family farms and other small family businesses are crushed by Big Business and Big Government in cahoots. The NFL is a Big Business.
The elites manufacture divisions in society -- especially by race -- to distract us from their dominance over us. We fight each other when we should be uniting for a decent share of ownership in our country.
The powerbrokers of the NFL have shown over the past five seasons or so that they truly despise their fans. They treat us as a bunch of rubes and bigots who are only deserving of ridicule and scorn, as well as gouging.
How much does a football jersey cost these days at the Packers gift shop in Lambeau Field? How much does a ticket cost in the furthest reaches of Lambeau Field way up in the ether of altitude?
I love the Packers and pro football despite the leaders of the NFL who treat fans like dirt.
I love America despite the leaders who treat citizens like dirt.
The first step in truly making our society great again is to realize that we are continuously manipulated and intimidated by our self-proclaimed social betters.
They want to rob us of even our dignity. Don't let them.

Don't forget the NFL Commish works for the owners. He serves at their pleasure, and his job is to make money for them. Lot's of it. He's been very successful. We just don't see the Walton family in their box at Mile High in Denver, lean over to Condi Rice and say "we should lower ticket prices." I've never heard Jerry Jones discuss doing something nice for the fans.

Unfortunately, with the exception of poor Mike Brown (net worth of only $955 million) in Cincinnati, billionaires own 31 NFL teams that play in publicly-funded stadiums. It's all about money, and it's all about greed. The Walton-Penner ownership group in Denver is worth $77.4 billion. They don't love you, and they don't care about your dignity.

Taking the second step is necessary before anything improves (and that's not referring to the NFL)

I thought this game was Peacock, but yes, it is horrible what Goodell has done to the NFL. Total greed. It's only a matter of time before the SuperBowl is on a paid streaming service too.

J Love is GB starting QB and his multi million dollar contract makes that a fact, several years ago when Guty scouted and visualised Love he saw a tall big armed ala T brady type QB who would take over the reins and become the packers third generation HOFamer.
Love has played well there have been bumps in the road, but the NFL has moved on to mobile running ( read option ) style QBs. Although Love can scramble and throw he does look slow and lacks some athletic ability, its very noticeable when he gets in trouble and throws from uncoordinated positions those are the ones that lead to terrible interceptions. Can the Packers win with this style QB sure, but the league is different now and Loves version of QB could become even more noticeable as the NFL continues to draft speedy running/passing QBs

Become the Packers "third generation HOFamer". That is hilarious, OMG please stop. Jordan Love will never be in Canton unless he buys a ticket to tour it.

The option/mobile qb fad will last as long as it takes for defenses to adapt to it. To some extent they already have. Hit ‘em hard, and they either get hurt or fumble, like Lamar. Or you contain them and make them into the second rate throwers many of them are.

Lamar has real, high level pocket passer ability, that's what separates him from dozens of the athletic running-type QBs of the last 20 years. If Jackson was told he could never break the pocket, he'd still be among the top QBs- he has the skills to play the position.

not sure i agree that the "league" has moved on. take away last this last superbowl and look at the 10 before it and i wouldn't call any of them running quarterbacks. you need someone to pass the ball and someone else to run it.

As illustrated tonight before our very eyes, the plight of Lamar Jackson may be strong evidence about the limitations of a running quarterback.
Jackson may be the best example of a running quarterback who has excelled in the NFL, but it may also be that his career has for the most part run its course.
I don't know all that much about the case of Lamar Jackson, but his case seems a good matter for discussion.

See my post above on this- Lamar is an extremely sound pocket passer, he's a legitimate and complete QB who just so happens to add the threat of run on top. That is not the case with a number of these other athletic running QBs- they're less QB, more RB/Gadget types.

Again, it takes a lot more than an arm to run and NFL offense. Jackson can operate at a high level as a pure pocket passer.

Usually with a backup qb,they play great until film on them becomes available. Remember Anthony Dilweg?
Does not seem to be the case with Willis. He is a multi dimensional threat and we are beyond fortunate to have him. What he shows me is that he has responded to coaching as a true professional. Hope he hits the field tonight and makes himself a ton of $.
Will miss him when he's gone. Hopefully to an AFC team.

Jordan is not DURABLE - he is young but he is like a China doll and breaks on contact and because Jordan is slow and not elusive Jordan is going to be hurt again and again when the Packers fall behind the Lafleur is forced to let Jordan throw his slow processed, late hospital ball and inaccurate passes.

Imagine what Jordan is going to be like when he gets older and is even slower - and more importantly, less agile - than he is now!

Too bad that Malik has to once again fill in for our China Doll, Jordan.

Malik is toughing it out this week with an injured THROWING shoulder and probably has the flu if not some version of Covid.

Jordan is our Carson Wentz and Malik is our Jalen Hurts.
For those that think that Gutey (the destroyer of Packer Super Bowl bound teams for 8 years now) cannot jettison Jordan Love pronto if Gutey wanted to, they are wrong.
Wentz was also drafted in the 1st round - 2nd overall pick.
Wentz was also had his rookie contract extended with a then record contract - Wentz June 2019 4 year extension gave him $107 million guaranteed - the most in history at that time surpassing Russell Wilson's then new deal.
Unlike Jordan - Wentz in his 2nd season finished 3rd in the MVP voting in 2017 - Brady was first and Todd Gurley 2nd.
But Howie Roseman - less than 2 years after giving Wentz that RECORD GUARANTEED MONEY AND EXTENSION realized what he had in Jalen Hurts and what he didn't have in Wentz and had the guts to rid himself of his mistake of drafting Wentz in the first round and giving Wentz a record contract by finding a team willing to trade for Wentz and take on his record guaranteed contract in March 2021. Roseman traded Wentz on March 17, 2021 for 2021 3rd round pick (84th overall) and 2022 1st round pick (16th overall). In doing so the Eagles took the largest dead cap hit at the time in NFL history.

Roseman's start in the NFL was not due to Nepotism and Roseman had established himself as a GM when he made this trade of Wentz as Roseman's Eagles had won the Super Bowl with Roseman as GM in 2017 and would go to another in 2022 and win in 2024. 4 NFC Championship appearances and 3 Super Bowls for Roseman since 2017.

Gutey's only still around because Aaron Rodgers carried him for years.

Jordan held Gutey's (his NFL father) feet to the fire with the "hold in" after just half a season of decent play as a starter that followed a half season of bone headed interceptions that ended the Packers season with a CHOKE AND BONE HEADED THROWS - in the most important game of the year in the playoffs against the 49ers - that a grade school quarterback wouldn't make.

And "Gutey" lets Jordan BLACKMAIL (the ultimate soft extortion/shakedown) him into a record contract for a QB and pockets $75 million dollars in GUARANTEED SIGNING BONUS without having to play another snap! ( AND GUTEY WOULD NOT GIVE ANOTHER $1 MILLION TO PACKER FAN AND VETERAN PLAYER BELOVED LEADER AARON JONES - instead letting Aaron go to the Vikings, causing the Packers to wear down Jacobs and lose the outside before contact elusiveness of Aaron Jones).

So is it any surprise that Jordan avoids like the PLAGUE even the slightest physical contact?

Some of Jordan's lack of lateral - and vertical - movement inside the pocket and outside the pocket is just due to Jordan's lack of physical agility and clumsiness, but a lot of it is simply due to the fact that Jordan doesn't have to work another day in his life and would quit right now if he could without some crazy fan coming after him.

Jordan will quickly throw the ball away when there is any pressure at all - rather than move laterally in the pocket to elude pass rushers and buy time for his receivers to become open or run for the extra yards and slide (and Jordan is such an uncoordinated Gumby that Jordan will hurt himself attempting to slide) when there is any pressure at all.

Such a contrast to Rodgers in ALL FACETS of the game, but especially physical and mental toughness.
As an example both Jordan and Rodgers sustained Grade 2 Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) sprains.
Does everyone remember Sunday night September 9, 2018 in Green Bay - opening night against the Bears and Khalil Mack?

Rodgers is sacked with 9 minutes and 22 seconds left in the 2nd quarter and the Packers trailing 10-0. Rodgers is put on a medical cart and wheeled off the field and it is determined that Rodgers has a grade 2 Medial Collateral Ligament sprain.

Another of Gutekunst's prize quarterback choices, Deshone Kizer (I am sure that the infamous Brett Hundley was Gutey's choice too as former Director of Scouting) - traded for by "Gutey" just a year after being chosen in the 2nd round and starting 15 games in 2017 "leading" the Browns to a 0 win and 15 loss record - comes in to replace Rodgers and is promptly sacked and fumbles the ball away to the Bears. On the next Packers possession Kizer throws a pick 6 to Khalil Mack.

The score is Bears 20 and Packers 0 to begin the 2nd half.

Rodgers ever the warrior returns at the start of 2nd half and proceeds to throw 3 touchdowns passes - including 75 yards to Randal Cobb (who like Jordy Nelson Gutey does not resign further DESTROYING the Packers veteran receiving corps - and there will be more with the loss of Davante and MVS - and chances for Super Bowls over the 2018 through current 2025 season)

Rodgers played the entire 2018 season with that Grade 2 MCL sprain, not missing a game.

Now let's contrast the Jordan Love experience with precisely the same injury - Grade 2 MCL sprain.

Jordan on September 6, 2024 sprains his MCL on the final drive of Week 1 on Friday Night in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles and defers to Malik - who had just joined the Packers a week or 2 earlier and had not seen any snaps with the starting offense - with the game on the line. AND THEN JORDAN TAKES OFF THE NEXT 2 GAMES!

Packer Fans should be calling for Gutekunst FIRING IMMEDIATELY and replacement with an Elliot Wolf (if he can be pried from the Patriots) who as a young teenager was at his father's side building the Super Bowl Packers and whose father always showed respect for the players - or a former NFL player that has been in the arena and can therefore respect the player - a John Lynch type

Favre played through far more than Rodgers. Of course an addiction to painkillers probably helped, along with the then prevalent approach to concussions: “how many of these TWO fingers am I holding up Brett?” Rodgers played through the same for half his career and also played at times when he probably shouldn’t in the interest of his team even so.

Just so you know (or would if you actually read), since he practiced in limited form, we know Love passed the first 4 stages of the protocol. Had he not, the team would not have been permitted to have him out in practice (limited to purely non contact activity).

To play in a game or even practice fully requires a league designated independent neurologist to sign off that a player meets the standard to play and to inform the no league of that fact. Only then will the league allow the player to fully practice or play in a game.

The Packers had no say in this and nor did Love. The League clearly has not cleared him. Go look up the process if you doubt me.

Hey, for you Packer fans upset at TV blackouts and highway robbery for NFL network, streaming, etc. try this:
Log on to: packers.com/video/radio-network and catch Wayne and Larry on internet radio.
They're better than any of those talking heads on TV. And absolutely free.
The Szotman
ps-Vegas has us at 4 point favorites. I say Willis leads Pack to victory by 6 ----- 27-21

I'm paying $10 to get Peacock to watch this game, and anything else I want to for a month. Then I'll cancel. It's $10 . $10. I'd spend three times that much at a sports bar, easily. And I already have Youtube TV, where I get most of the games, but they aren't carrying it tonight because it's locally televised. However, the local broadcast is being preempted by the Tejano Music Awards.

Sounds like good strategy, Leatherhead.
However, it doesn't absolve the NFL from charges of grinchy greediness.
The game will be replayed on the NFL Network in the wee hours of Sunday morning for us to watch with oatmeal or at least set for a recording.
Tonight, I'll just darn some dang socks, or perhaps do a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle of a polar bear eating marshmallows in a snowstorm.
