I totally agree that it's better to draft edge rushers than to pay free agents. Lets double dip with #12 Burns or Sweat, later rounds take a flyer on Ferguson, Crosby, or Banugo. Lets also keep in mind that Dee Ford will cost big money plus a high draft pick. That really makes it too cost prohibitive.

All things being equal, drafting EDGE players is better than paying them, but Sweat will be gone before #12, and at this point, Burns is just a 3rd down pass rusher. So, as much as I hate it, we may need to bite the bullet on Ford? If we can limit the damage to losing the #12 pick, we can still end up with a very good draft. For instance, something like: Lindstrom@30, Tillery@44, Knox@76, Barnes@115, Barton(LB)@119, Froholdt@151, Cody Thompson@186, Nijman@196, [email protected] these guys have really good tape and good combine performances to their credit...

If were gonna get Dee Ford for a 2nd round pick , the we don't need to draft an edge rusher at #12-#17 if we move down. Don't waste draft picks.

TE, OT, S, WR

Should be the 1st and 3rd round picks.

id much rather have that DE from clemson for a couple mil a year, than overpay for a less productive player.

Sorry but I just don't see Ford as that much better than Perry. Maybe Gute and Pettine see something more positive. I'll let them be the judge and hope for the best.

I’m all for Dee Ford if the cost is reasonable. Then we can either double down at edge with 12 or even go bold and take a TE or WR. Not saying this is totally my hope, but there are definitely worse case scenarios
