dear Golf, and are you saying Bisaccia has not done a good job? The only issue i've had with Rich is he kept playing Levin (#6 was it on ST's?) he was horrible. Reminds me of the Amari Rodgers situation wherein GB just couldn't figure out why give a 3rd rounder all that time to continue to be subpar. He couldn't be a pass catcher and was a poor (at best) punt returner.
No, Bisaccia stays, but if you believe Tabor is that good consider him for some other capacity-THERE SHOULD BE ROOM FOR ALL FINE coaches on a dynamic staff whose goal is the superbowl! What's wrong with having "depth" at the coaching positions?!

Bissaccia is better than what we had before. The inconsistent kicker was his pick. It took a season to use Nixon as a returner instead of the poor fit Rodgers was. The mix of the long snapper all over the place on his snaps, the holder leaning the ball and the kicker not executing as a unit and not fixing all these problems prior to the playoffs.....is problematic. ML and his WR coach and JL QB coach have come full circle, too bad other places on the team struggled the entire season. We added a new kicker, finally. Let's hope he's more consistent as well as the LS/Holder as well.

I think Brandon Staley might be in the best interest of the packers because he was a good DC. He didn't work out as a HC. Now if we hire him as DC and he turns out to be really good no one will want to steel him as a HC. If we hire a DC that was never a HC and he does great, chances are he won't be here very long.

I still think a lot of these guys wont take the job when they see the quality of players they have to work with out of the gate. Just sayin, they wont be much better then Barry if we have poor tackling, slow of foot, slow to react guys out there running around in the secondary.
No coach can make them faster. No coach can make them smarter. there will be a lot of things to un-coach in these guys and some wont handle it mentally. Some of these guys dont want to be tough and tackle a lot.
Thus, the person they get better be pre pared to deal with a shit load of problems and diversity of scheme issues.

Fubar….if the players are that bad, and the coaches are that bad, then how did they finish 10th in scoring defense? How did we get a 27-0 lead on a team like Dallas?

Better than they’re being given credit for.

Offense rattling them and interceptions primarily. The second half showed a more typical Barry. Something we saw in the 4th quarter against the 49ers again. Barry’s instincts just undermine him when it matters. Going prevent then and failing was possibly the last straw. Herman summed it up very well earlier in the week.

I hope the decision to fire JB was not based on one game, but on the whole body of his work. Which is what MLF said.

Caldwell is average-ish. Not much difference between what he did the last two years and what Barry did.

The 49ers have an elite pass rush....We do not. I don't know how much CAP room for FA, but we need better DB's , DL push and elite level OLB rush. I would use FA for solid DB's and DL....Maybe Gary doesn't fade out after a full offseason training and regains his pre-injury self. P. Smith has been pretty reliable and a good edge defender, but is getting older. Need OL in the draft also...The WR and TE group is solid. Unfortunately the CAP is king still. Whoever is DC will be hamstrung a bit in 2024, before we can buy what we need instead of hope draft picks pan out. As long as they are not passive, we should be better on Defense. We will not be losing any Vet players that could not be easily replaced.

0 cap space to acquire new FAs. Won't be able to keep everyone we'd like.

OL has to be first draft priority IMHO, nobody else protects the QB from injury. Will need 3 good ones on the interior unless JRJ is retained, then Gutey might get by with only two.

DBs will continue to improve, both through experience and churning the bottom of the roster. I expect GB will still need improvement at DB and LB in 2025's draft, maybe a star FA will fit within the cap by then?

If the new DC also likes the idea of a hybrid LB / DB I would not be opposed to spending one of the top two picks there this draft.

Rumors are already out there that the Packers have made an offer already, to Christian Parker and that he has been in Grern Bay since yesterday.

Here’s a little insight on him I found interesting:

Interesting article. He's worked with Ja, I hope MLF would ask him what he thinks of making him DC.

I am of the opinion that we need a young bright up and comer as the DC. When one looks at what Jeff Ulbrick has done with the Jets - and what some other bright lights have done across the league - We need a young guy to fit in with this young team. Like Mike Macdonald with the Ravens. I would stay a way from certain coaching trees - Belicheck tree , Fangio tree. We need the new modern approaches with speed to counter the new modern offenses - like the one that we are developing. And we need someone to both motivate and discipline - Barry was too soft and too many undisciplined penalties without consequences. Next step selection of players to fit the new DC's strategy - ILB and DB's.

First of all, until we see the results of the combine it is folly to put anyone in stone for the draft picks. That said, I agree that we need an upgrade at both CB and safety. So.....why not take a CB who has played both CB and safety? Kitchens comes to mind but if and only if he can run under a 4.5 forty. Now days to cover deep against the long pass you need to be fast period. Moreover If Kitchens does he will not likely be available in the second round. With the two second rounds picks you address RB and a run stopping LB. Third round we could use our two picks for 1) O-Line preferably one who could play all five positions) and 2) A massive 330 plus nose tackle who can take up two blockers and stuff the run. In the later rounds find a kicker who can reliably make extra points and kick the ball consistently into the end zone on kickoffs. In other words the best kicker you can find. Finally, reach into the vault and find an explosive free agent playmaker on offense or defense to give the finishing touch on the project. The goal is Superbowl. Nothing less. As far as DC I have no opinion . let management decide. It is not like coaches run a combine or anything.

Carlson kicked it every bit as deep as RB wanted, and they've already gotten someone else from his draft class who was the best in the SEC that year. That sounds like instead of a draft pick to me.

Need 3 O lineman if JRJ isn't re-signed, all on the interior.

We need later round picks to develop - we have enough starters as long as they resign Runyon - Nijmon may come cheap as a back up and Caleb is restricted and dont know why he didnt get some reps or even some big man packages. But we need defensive guys in the first 3 rounds including AR's 2nd rounder.
