In install phases, defenders who know the system and those calling formations all know what they are likely to see. It’s inevitable that they look better than they will. Let’s see when they play another team that’s not flagging what they are practicing.
As to completion rate. It’s passed not made adequately in terms of accuracy or reading what’s happening on D + receptions missed due to receiver mistakes. Right now, we obviously would expect both Love and the receivers to be less than polished vets. Both therefore will have lower success rates.
That’s why Rodgers had a big advantage throwing to Jennings, Driver, Jones. Not because they are necessarily better than the current crop maybe over careers, but they were in 2008. That reduced half the source of the incompletion rate considerably over what I think is the case now.
Love will show what he is, but the hole had to be that both ends of the catch improve their “fail” rates. That should begin as preseason advances, particularly if they play together. It will likely go on all through the season though. It should mean a steeper improvement curve early because there should be two sides improving, but a much lower starting point, certainly, and at the moment that’s compounding but equally should be expected with the inexperience of this offensive passing game group.

CW, I hope that rate of improvement slows its roll because options other than WR are used more, at least early in the season. High probability plays should be our ticket, at least until our O line establishes itself as dominant. If that happens in week 1 at Chicago? Lol great, but I'd rather see coaches and play callers making that decision instead of JL10. Even if MLF calls all offensive plays.
Burners like #9 can still run deep routes to spread the opposing defense; just like MVS that's a significant contribution even if never targeted. And he just might get wide open ...

You got to let Love be Love and if he fails he fails. In all likelihood he becomes a mediocre QB and that means the receivers will also be mediocre not having pin point passes tossed to them or being open when the QB misses his throw. Well see soon enough. The clock is ticking nicely and Love will enter stage left next week.
Hey if he is a failure blaim Gutt.

If JL10 fails?!?
I simply do not believe that.
He won't be AR12. He won't be #4. He won't be Bart Starr.
Who will be be? I think he'll succeed. What will that look like? I think his likely path to success is going for the high probability play, something AR12 failed to do; at least last year.
This requires coaches being smart in situational football. We'll see if that materializes ...
