Gut reaction:
Fuck the Bears !
There is no bigger rivalry in the world. With that said, they have a team, they are not the basement dwellers that they have been since 1986... They are definitely a 4th Q team and they made this game come right down to it but the better team, THE PACKERS came out on top once again, for the 109th time out of 211.
Yes, the Packers own the Bears.
How sweet it is......
FUCK Chicago !

Solid win against a ::cough:: goodish team. Hey, Packers lead the NFC North!
Caleb not only could have extended the final play with his feet for the first down, he missed an open DJ Moore short. Sometimes a guy just has to throw a game-ending pick. Oh well, good try, Caleb.
Anthony Belton was The Escalade on Jacob’s TD run; blocked two guys, then pushed the pile.
Remember Gary Payton, the NBA player? Trash talker extraordinaire. Someone called him the most intrusive person on the planet. That’s how he played, how he fired himself up. I’m happy for Nixon. BS personal foul call after he was punched in the throat.
Micah Parsons is held on almost every pass rush. Why no flags?
Appropriate drive-by handshake between MLF and Benny the Windy City Wizard after the game. Benny was sad he had to keep his shirt on.
This one had the intensity of an old-time Packers vs Bears game. Pads were popping!
TK’s right. Hafley needs to call that interception D more often.
Let’s do this again in a couple of weeks.

There was no route to the first down for Williams on that play if he had tried to run for it. The Packers were all over it. Maybe he could've squeezed it in to Moore, though it would've been a difficult throw running to his left. Maybe the biggest surprise was that they had him rolling to his left instead of his right, He had hit some killer plays earlier in the game when he rolled to his right.
I saw Micah Parsons getting held too. Very strange that those almost never get called.

That was closer than I wanted it to be.
1) The officials didn't do us any favors today.
2) We have the ability to throw the ball over people's head. That's going to be huge for the rest of the way.
3) I didn't think Reed was going to be that much help his first game back.
4) Once again,we hit the magic number of 27 (actually 28) and won. It's hard to score enough points on our defense to overcome that.
5) In back to back weeks, we've played one of the best passing teams in the league, and one of the best rushing teams in the league, and held them both under their average.
9-3-1 First place in the division , #2 seed in the NFC. It could be worse.

I'll take this version of worst, especially of late. They are getting scary again. Watson, Reed . #s 1 and 2 IMHO, but who cares really. Even Musgrave is showing his ability.

great game and a great win for the Packers! Obviously a huge play by Nixon for the game winning pick. That play was set up by the great stop by Engabare on the previous 3rd down play. Great job by the Packers defense for most of the game. They kept the Bears ground game in check and Mae the big stops when they had to.
On offense the OL, Jacobs, Reed, Watson and Love had great games.
Big plays by our best players when we needed then the most. Hoping they can keep it going against the Broncos.GPG! Thanks, Since '61

It was an exciting as hell game. Not the outcome I hoped for, but I am looking forward to two weeks. That said, have to beat the Browns for the game to have the necessary meaning.
Wish Caleb had kept it on 4th down. I thought he had the angle for the first. Moore was bracketed well. .2 seconds later, sure he was open, but not when Williams released. He was late to Kmet, and under threw. Nixon made the biggest play of the game.

Note. GB did not make the Bears punt the entire second half. Hope the D figures out how to keep Williams somewhat contained without opening up the middle to the run. Otherwise we will need 35 or more next time.

The problem with the bares is the defense. Worst bringing pressure on 3rd down. Packers are best O on 3rd down in the NFL and Love the best passer.
Borne out in this game...4 TDs on 5 third down attempts by Pack with three TD passes by Love.
Bares put the game in Williams right arm and Nixon took the gift in the end zone.
Love is a Championship talent at QB...the Packers D is too. The NFC is the class of the NFL as far as depth.
Let's see how we do with the studs of the AFC in Denver next Sunday.

Mile High stadium is a very real advantage for the Broncos.. not just a crowd noise advantage, but a tangible physical advantage. They live, train, and play at altitude, unlike the Packers who are basically at sea level.
Packers defense has been accused of getting tired in the second half of games.. playing in Denver is going to compound that fatigue.

Packers can't have three and outs in Denver. Nix is mobile and defense will have to chase him. Need to give defense some rest by running the ball, throwing short, moving the chains.

Exciting and fun game to watch, wasn't it?
On offense, MLF should have started the second half the way the Bears did - short passes with movement/misdirection instead of the predictable runs (basically how they started the game with Reed). GB needed to establish some tempo and movement coming out of the half...instead it was a 3&O.
Like others, I'm puzzled by the need to make the deep throws on plays where 4 or fewer yards are needed for a first down. As color commentator Brady subtly hinted at, 'you just want to move the chains...and control the clock...you've got the lead...stay with higher percentage plays'. As much as I disliked deflate-gate, tuck-rule fool Brady as a player, I DO like his commentary. He gets into the game and gives us live strategy and thoughts as if he were the QB on the field in live time...often telling us what he'd do over the next few plays sprinkled with his thoughts in real time on clock management. This is good stuff to listen to as a fan...
On defense, I wonder if an occasional 5-2-4 in the 2nd half would have worked better at times. The Bears wore down GB with their run game. Why not stack the line with 5 against the run, stop it and force the Bears to pass? Keep Walker and Coop as your 2 LBs who can cover any TE or RB in the flat or coming out for short passes. A 5 man DL with Gary and Parsons should have no problem putting enough pressure on Williams so he can't have time for deep passes or crossers. If GB was playing '8 in the box' instead, it sure wasn't effective.
On defense, why not line up Parsons almost exclusively against the Bears' RT? Williams would NOT roll out to his (preferred) right side and into the waiting hands of speedy Parsons. Yet, Parsons mostly was on the other side of the D. If Williams rolls out to his left (b/c Parsons is lined up to Williams' right), Williams has to throw against his body - where he's much less successful as demo'd on the Bears last offensive play.

Totally agree with the assessment MLF should have started the second half with a uptempo design instead of the predictable runs. Two scores might have changed the Bears plan and definitely saved some D wear & tear.
His 2nd half play call was stale at best.

Great game. Both teams had playoff intensity.
I wish the Officials would watch for some of the holds I see against Micah Parsons. Damn near every play. These Officials let a lot go for and against BOTH sides. Just thought some of the Parsons holding was next level. I guess this is “letting them play” but yeah…

A lot closer than it needed to be. ML really needs to flow the Offense and let our Defense rest after these extended drives they faced tonight. That just about lost the game for GB....The Defense was really gassed and absolutely could not stop the run enough to get a punt in the second half. ML must run a jumbo package and run their defense into the ground after it is done to us. I would really like a DT pick-up if a team lets one go before the post season Good to have Reed back and when you throw crossers to Watson.....It is taking candy from a baby. Good to see Jacobs doing Jacobs things to move the chains....I think this time off really did him some good with a little more burst and getting to the edge or cutting thru the Bears Defense.....Not enough pass rush at times with 4, but the Bears ran so much it was hard to guess when to blitz.....GPG
GregC
December 07, 2025 at 09:50 pm
If you liked the crosser to Watson for a 41-yard TD, then you can't complain about the offense not allowing the defense to rest. The responsibility for getting the defense off the field falls mainly on the defense. Anyway, the offense had a nice long TD drive at the end, exactly when they needed it.

December 08, 2025 at 05:40 am
If you see a pretty dominant run game...there are some significant holding issues that are going to negate good players that could and should make some of the plays....and there was evidence of plenty of that. GB Offense did the Defense no favors on some of their failed series also....the Defense lost Clark and Wyatt on the interior and gained a Stud De #1 who is held on virtually every play for a no-call holding. It was 8 degrees and the Defense was on the field for 80 percent of the second half. Sometimes you need to convert 3rd downs to help a brother out.
That's all....GB was dominant but the Bears ate up most of the clock. Which means, not good for our defense regardless of the circumstance. It's a HC and play callers job to do what he can to slow the bleeding.

That was a catch by Musgrave and that was a fumble recovery by Willisms, that being said I think Love should have been passing more in second half too many negative plays fast 3 and outs wore out the Packerd D .

correct. though i think technically it was an interception by Williams, ball never hit the ground.
LambeauPlain
December 07, 2025 at 11:28 pm
No, it appeared to me it did not. Musgrave's catch was another official "you make the ambiguous call". Seriously, I believe every receiver catch to the ground can be called a catch or an incompletion. And every fight of a WR and a DB each competing for a catchable ball can be called INT.

** After the early INT Jordan Love played a perfect game. He was the difference against Chicago today. His long ball is spectacular. Wait, so is his short ball. Great when he has time, great against the blitz.. A+ today.
** Christian Watson ,WOW! Just wow. The man has been on fire since his return from injury. That slant looked like something from Montana to Rice in the 80’s. Yes it was that good.
** Speaking of good, Josh Jacobs might be good. He willed his way to all 86 of those yards today. Just a total stud. Keep him healthy going down the stretch.
** Was that Luke Musgrave stretching all the way TF out for that long catch that was overturned? Great effort and good game from the TE’s today.
** Props to Matt LaFleur. The team was ready today on both sides of the ball for the whole first half. The pass-run ratio was right where I like it.
** Except next time, Matt might want to dial back the halftime “tone it down/show more poise” rhetoric. They came out after the half cold as the weather and flat AF.
** Am I the only one who thinks Quay Walker leaves plays on the field? He never seems to come up with a play when you need one and looks like he doesn’t anticipate where the runner is going. Better than last year and started the season playing a lot better but slipping lately IMO. I’m going to chalk it up to post-injury rust.
** I think #7 would play better if he didn’t have to call the defense. There, I said it. He’s worrying about where everyone is lining up until the ball is snapped. Let him play his own position and follow the ball. Just my $0.02.
**Keisean Nixon is fast AF. He was the difference on defense today.
** No bullshit, Micah Parsons makes everyone better. 55 and 52 were motoring nonstop out there and seem to feed off Parsons’ energy. Pass rush held up well against Williams.
** Great win and shut the Bears up. For a week anyway. Better team won bottom line.

Living in Arizona it sure sucked that F*%&king Fox did not show the game here unlike every single other state in the continental U.S. (except for southern California). Critical win for the Packers and glad to have it although I thought this was one of Hafley's poorer games (edit: the second half was poor). Maybe someone has a good explanation for the following:
(1) Why was Nazir Stackhouse inactive against a team that likes to run it up the gut? Yes Jordan Riley was active, but the Packers really could have used a fifth DT in the second half given how gassed the DTs were.
(2) I have seen several scouting reports that says Caleb Williams is dynamic rolling to his right and less so rolling to his left (which is typical for a right handed QB). William proved that correct by carving up the Packer secondary while rolling right most of the second half and his game ending interception was one of the very few times he rolled left (and underthrew the pass right into Nixon's waiting hands). So why did Hafley spend most of the second half with three defensive linemen lined up on Williams' left side (and one DE to Williams' right side) and effectively forcing Williams to roll right? Shouldn't it have been the other way around and trying to force Williams to roll left? I thought this strategy played right into the Bears' strength. I would love it if someone who knows more than me could explain what Hafley was trying to do.

Fair point about the first half where the Packers smothered the Bears. I'm not suggesting Hafley was trying to lose the game, but I found the second half strategy just odd. What was the purpose of the unbalanced D-line the forced Williams to roll into his good throwing side????

He may be saving some looks for the Rematch. Williams tendencies going right should be addressed with the edge holding point and a LB stacked to press into his face. Lots of fun stuff to look forward to seeing. I would like to see Hopper getting some chances to disrupt.

Maybe they were trying to exploit the Bears' left tackle, who is the weak link on their O-line. And Caleb Williams made some great plays that they couldn't really do anything about. We'll see if Hafley adjusts the strategy for the next game.

Refs have kept the flags in their pockets the last few weeks (except for Nixon). It wasn't just Parsons being hog-tied.
It seems like Tom kicks out of his stance a hair early on just about every pass call, and he could be called for a false start. Tom's not the only one who does it--it seems to happen with a lot of OTs--but it just doesn't get called.

Brrrr. Well, it wasn't that cold nor unpleasant weather. Sunny going into Lambeau, very little wind...but way to many bare fans.
Before the game a glaring stat was the Packers were tops in the NFL on 3rd down, Love was the best passer on 3rd down...and the bares sucked on bringing pressure on 3rd down.
4 of the TDs were on on 3rd down. Love tossed 3 of the scores. It is crazy.
The early Love INT was a bummer because of a lost scoring opportunity and stalled the plan to get the Packers with a 2 score lead and force Williams to throw. He's mostly a terrible passer with a few wow! tosses. He is Houdini escaping the pocket.
But the bares OL took over in the 2nd half in a tight game. Man they can ground pound. Defense got exhausted trying to stop the bares run game. So of course the bares with a few last chances elect to let Williams arm get them to OT.
K Nix said NO! Nixon has the perfect demeanor for an NFL CB.

We hear relentlessly about playing complementary football. And this game showed why. Defense comes off the field after giving up incredibly long drive, long time on field. And what does the offense do? Do they try to pound the rock and run some clock to give the defense a rest? Nooooo. They go for the long ball and end up with a three and out, and put the gassed defense right back on the field. Bad judgment by MLF and/or Love.

Then they've got to beat their guy, make some plays, and get off the field. On that 8 minute drive in the second half, the Bears had five third downs--they converted all of them. In the end, the Bears were very good on first down in the second half. They were not in the first half.
Packers won the TOP battle in the first half. After each of the Bears' long scoring drives in the second half, the Packers answered with TDs.
